testing microphone/stereo mixing. specifically i’m seeing if the desk microphone is good enough to pick up the speakers and perform a crude external mix. from the results, i guess not since the sound is hollow and distant, and you can hear the keyboard. next video is an internal mix test.
i understand if the sound is loud – i’ll adjust levels on future recordings. also the microphone is an AK5370, branded by Logitech. Speakers are moderate volume, klipsch pro media 2.1, approx 3.5ft from the microphone (off axis by some 70*).
also i changed some settings in virtualdub (which i use to reduce upload time by pre-compressing the video) to provide higher quality video. XVID “portable” profile, with adaptive quant, and 0.25 pixel mocomp. sound is typical LAME 128CBR ST.
